AIRGILLS
"The earpiece that expands like earplugs to protect ears in airplanes"
Taking its inspiration from the movement of a fish bladder, Airgills is a pair of earpiece that expands to fit the ear canal, acting like a ear plug. It is designed for use in airplanes where the change in air pressure would often result in ear pain among individuals with sensitive ears.
Individuals with small eustachian tubes often fall victim to ear pain when there is a change in air pressure in the airplane cabins. Many of them include elderly and children but adults fall prey to such problems too. Thus, it is imperative for the design of the earpiece to consider ergonomics and appearance to fit different age groups and gender.
